Animal blood donor program
The SupaWheroes
The donor dogs whose blood has kept other animals alive. No capes, no fanfare — fifteen minutes lying still and someone else's dog goes home.
The honour roll is just getting started
We are building the donor registry now. If your dog is healthy, calm, and over 25 kg, they may be exactly who someone else's dog needs.

What makes a good donor
Donating is safe, quick, and completely voluntary. Most eligible dogs can give a few times a year with no effect on their health.
Final eligibility is always determined by a partner veterinary clinic, never by the association. Nothing on this page is veterinary advice.
- Healthy and up to date
Current on vaccinations, free of tick-borne disease, and not on medication at the time of donation.
- The right size
Generally at least 25 kg, so a standard unit can be drawn safely without stressing the donor.
- The right age
Usually between one and eight years old.
- Calm enough to donate
A donation takes about fifteen minutes lying still. Dogs that find handling stressful are not asked to donate.
- Screened by a partner vet
Final eligibility and blood typing are determined by the partner veterinary clinic, never by the association.
