Regular Member

Can vote

Full member with voting rights.

Annual dues (see tiers)

Dog lovers who support the mission and pay their annual membership dues.

Rights

  • The right to vote on association matters and elections
  • The right to protection and assistance from the association
  • The right to join all events, programs, and activities
  • The right to sponsor and add associate members

Duties

  • Support the association's mission and vision
  • Abide by the by-laws, rules, and regulations
  • Actively participate in programs and activities
  • Attend meetings of the association
  • Pay membership dues and agreed assessments

Associate Member

No vote

Free to join — cannot vote.

Free

Family, friends, and supporters added by a regular member. Free to join.

Rights

  • The right to join events, programs, and activities
  • The right to protection and assistance from the association
  • Added and sponsored by a regular member

Duties

  • Support the association's mission and vision
  • Abide by the by-laws, rules, and regulations
  • Participate in activities where able

Honorary Member

No vote

Recognized partners — non-voting.

By invitation

Veterinarians, LGUs, sponsors, and partners recognized by the board for their support.

Rights

  • Recognition as a partner of the association
  • Invitation to events and programs

Duties

  • Uphold the spirit and mission of the association

Regular membership dues

Staggered so everyone can take part. Associate members join free. Amounts are set by the board (Finance & Treasury Committee) and may be updated.

Student / Senior

Who we are looking for

The Board determines the qualifications of every applicant under Article V of the by-laws. In practice, it comes down to these.

  • Animal lover

    Must have genuine compassion, concern, and love for animals.

  • Animal welfare advocate

    Must support the protection, humane treatment, responsible ownership, and welfare of animals.

  • Good moral character

    Must demonstrate honesty, respect, responsibility, and good conduct.

  • No history of animal cruelty

    Must not have been involved in intentional animal abuse, neglect, or cruelty.

  • Responsible pet ownership

    Pet owners should practice responsible care, including proper food, shelter, veterinary care, vaccination, and humane treatment.

  • Willingness to help

    Must be willing to participate in or support the association's animal welfare activities, programs, and campaigns.

  • Respect for others

    Must respect fellow members, volunteers, pet owners, rescuers, and the community.

  • Commitment to the organization

    Must uphold the association's mission, vision, values, and rules.

  • Non-discrimination

    Membership is open to individuals regardless of breed preference, socioeconomic status, or level of experience with animals, provided they support animal welfare.

  • Membership application

    Must complete the association's membership application and policies, and comply with its annual membership identification requirements.

What happens after you apply?

Step 1

We receive your application

Your details go straight to the Board of Trustees. You'll see a confirmation on screen right away.

Step 2

The Board reviews it

The Board checks your application against our membership qualifications. This usually takes a few days.

Step 3

We welcome you in

Once approved, we reach out to you and invite you to our Facebook group and upcoming activities.

Rights of members

By-Laws, Article V, Section 2

  1. To exercise the right to vote on all matters relating to the affairs of the association.
  2. To be eligible for any elective or appointive office of the association.
  3. To participate in all deliberations and meetings of the association.
  4. To avail of all the facilities of the association.
  5. To examine all the records or books of the association during business hours.

Duties of members

By-Laws, Article V, Section 3

  1. To obey and comply with the by-laws, rules, and regulations promulgated by the association from time to time.
  2. To attend all meetings of the association.
  3. To pay membership identification fees and other assessments as agreed upon by the association.
